Corn Picker Questions Romney

Cue song: “What a difference a day makes

The Mitt Romney for President organization– specifically former MA Gov. Mitt Romney himself, disavowed his/their own national campaign co-chairman NH Sen. Judd Gregg’s statements about Iowa caucuses. Romney spoke before a crowd of Iowans in Washington, IA on Wednesday.

Earlier in the week, Gregg said Iowans “pick corn” not presidents.

Romney was asked about it in a coffee shop in Washington, Ia.

He was also asked about “long-range plans for getting out of Iraq,” and responded by saying, in Iraq: “The president did a superb job … if we were to do what Barack Obama suggested … it would have made Afghanistan look like child’s play … I’m glad they didn’t get yanked out nine months ago, when Barack Obama was calling for it.” Here’s the exchange:

Mitt was asked about “morally clean” family values. He responded that, “Every first lady gets to pick one issue that she’s going to go across the country and promote.” As first lady, his wife, Ann Romney, will busy herself with “helping kids make good decisions … that before they have babies, they should get married.”

Hillary Clinton’s Vinton Visit

Among others, Clinton acknowledged State Rep. Swati Dandekar before her speech in Vinton, Ia.

Afterwards, Dandekar spoke with the Iowa Independent about her view of Clinton’s experience as first lady. Dandekar has been a Clinton supporter for several months.
