James Lowe is well-known around Iowa. He’s the guy in John Edwards’ speeches who couldn’t talk because of a cleft palate that was finally fixed after fifty years.

Edwards has used Lowe’s story as an object lesson in the U.S. health care system.

The former coal miner was in Lisbon, Iowa to speak on behalf of John Edwards on Saturday.

More can be found at the Iowa Independent.

Entry filed under: 1, national, visitors to Iowa.

No comment? Interesting and sad. Unfortunately for John Edwards, he did not become popular by exposing the truth.

Americans don’t want to hear the truth. They want someone who will make them feel good. We keep reading a lot about this “message of hope.” What a shame. Until the American people are willing to hear the truth, is there really any hope?
